The leader of the province’s official Opposition met with union leaders yesterday to discuss matters of concern, including a recent ipolitics article suggesting that incoming Premier Andrew Furey is not ruling out cuts to the public service to deal with the province’s debt.

Yesterday the Opposition leader met with Mary Shortall of the Federation of Labour and NAPE’s Jerry Earle.
Crosbie says Furey, an orthopedic surgeon by profession, has previously indicated that sometimes you need to cut off a limb to save the patient.
Crosbie says it’s time for Furey to come clean on the province’s economic recovery plan.
