Memorial University President Vianne Timmons says she’s learned a lot from a road trip across the province aimed at connecting with the university community.
Timmons has familiarized herself with everything from brand new business enterprises to digging deep into the province’s past.

She remarks that there hasn’t been a part of the province she’s visited yet that hasn’t had some kind of connection to MUN.
Timmons, who took over the role of president in the spring, says COVID forced her to work in virtual isolation for the first three months of her presidency. In fact, she didn’t meet any of her vice-presidents in person until the end of June.

That’s why she felt, as soon as the time was right, it was important to hit the road.
