Work to repair bridges on the Trans Canada Highway east of St. John’s, and on Pitts Memorial Drive is beginning this week.
The highways will be reduced to one lane near the bridges due to heavy equipment and crews working in the area, so there will be delays.
Work on Pitts will take place on two bridges – one each in eastbound and westbound lanes between the highway’s interchange with the Robert E. Howlett Highway and the overpass above Bay Bulls Road.
Work on the TCH will happen on one bridge in the westbound lane roughly four k.m. east of the Foxtrap Access Road.
The projects should be finished by early September.
