Crews are continuing to battle the two forest fires in Newfoundland; one in Terra Nova and one in Benoits Siding on the west coast.
The Terra Nova fire is more than six hectares and labelled out of control. The nearest dwellings are approximately 3-4km away.
The Benoits Siding fire currently covers five hectares and is also deemed out of control with overhead wires nearby.
The blazes are both being fought with multiple resources, including water bombers, helicopters, and fire personnel. There are two more crews on the way to the Benoits Siding fire.

NL Fire Crews’ Resources Stretched Due to Two Ongoing Forest Fires
Provincial Fire Crews are fighting two forest fires, one in Terra Nova and another in Western Newfoundland.
At approximately 3:30 this afternoon, the second forest fire was reported in Benoits Siding near Codroy Cove. This is the second forest fire of the day; both require water bombers.
One of the tankers that was fighting the blaze in Terra Nova had to be redeployed to assist with the Benoits Siding fire.
A helicopter has been dispatched from Gander to assist the other water bomber in Terra Nova, bringing the total to six fire staff, one helicopter, and one water bomber battling that blaze.
There is no word on the size or intensity of the Benoits Siding Fire at this time.
