It’s been one year since Dildo elected its honourary mayor, Jimmy Kimmel. On Friday, the Local Service District made a post to honour the anniversary.

Last August, the community was abuzz with excitement after the talkshow host caught wind of the Trinity Bay community with a storied name.

The host’s tongue-in-cheek leadership bid quickly caught on within the community, with signs calling for Kimmel’s election as honourary mayor.

The Local Service District noted that their streets became packed with visitors from near and far after the gag caught on among viewers from around the world.

As part of his election bid, a Hollywood-style Dildo sign was erected on the hill overlooking the community, as a nod to its partnership with LA-based Jimmy Kimmel Live.
