A Kenmount Road restaurant feels like it was blindsided today when the city paved its section of the thoroughfare without notice.
The stretch from Pippy Place to just beyond Peet Street is part of this year’s phase of the underground trunk extension, and Kellie Loveless of A&W says, up to now, things have gone as well as could be expected.
Today is MS Burger Day at A&W locations—a fundraiser that sees money from burger sales go to charity to help fight multiple sclerosis. That came to an abrupt end at the Kenmount Road location when paving crews moved in. She says nobody could access the restaurant.
However, the city says as far as they are aware, the restaurant did not close. City officials say the road did not close and remains open. However, a closure will be in effect tonight from 11 p.m. until 7 a.m.
