Environment Canada issued notice that conditions are favourable to carry thunderstorms, intense wind gusts up to 90 km/h, and rainfall amounts of up to 25 mm per hour.

On top of that, communities in Central have reported significant hail falling as the storm clouds rolled overhead.
Grand Falls-Windsor Fire Chief Vince MacKenzie tweeted video of hail falling near the town’s fire station, and encouraged drivers to wait out the weather or exercise caution.

Images submitted to the VOCM Newsroom show significant hail accumulating throughout Central—from Grand Falls-Windsor to Gander and beyond.
Some drivers were forced to pull over to wait out marble-sized hail pellets that were pelting their vehicles.
