School bus operators say they are still unsure how the sanitation of buses will work when school opens in September, but the school board says it will be up to them.
Bus operators are concerned and say the stress of cleaning in between routes, monitoring students for masks and ensuring kids stay in their seats, is completely unrealistic.
At Monday’s back to school announcement, Director of Education Tony Stack discussed the situation.
He says the expectations are laid out both for contracted and board owned busses and they expect the contractors to adhere and adapt to the new normal just like any vendor in this province. He says it’s essential to doing what we can for hygiene and sanitation and it’s a requirement.
