People were lining up on Fogo Island yesterday for the ferry run this morning as the strike by marine captains enters its second day.
Five routes are on a reduced schedule, including Fogo Island-Change Islands and Bell Island-Portugal Cove.
There are four round trips per day for Bell Island so Eastern Health reminds people to forward a confirmation of medical appointment to twmarine@gov.nl.ca or carry a copy of their confirmation of appointment and be in the medical priority line 30 minutes prior to departure.
Emergency trips will not be impacted.
Meanwhile, the mayor of St. Brendan’s, where the number of trips has been reduced from three per day to one, is concerned about the situation.
Veronica Broomfield says there is space for only 16 vehicles on the ferry.
