There’s a black bear on the roam in and around the East Coast Trail on the southern shore.
Sightings and signs of the bear near the popular hiking trail have been reported throughout the summer.
Patrick told VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly the animal has been wandering around in the area from Aquaforte to Port Kirwan.
He warns area residents not to leave garbage, dog, or cat food out to attract the bear close to homes.
