It’s hard to imagine an RV park without a dumping station these days, but such a service isn’t necessary at a new campground near Avondale.
Destination RV, just off the TCH, was packed Labour Day Weekend as campers took advantage of great weather to celebrate the last long weekend of summer.
Owner John Gushue, who also has a similar park in Clairmont, Florida, says he has nearly 200 sites with plans to expand to about 360 over the next two years. He says having many kid-friendly activities, and facilities is probably the biggest drawing card.
Gushue went to Ireland to check out a sewer system and, as a result, the sewer is actually recycled into clean water for non-consumptive use.
He says it’s not much different from a small town or large subdivision.
