Husky executives in Calgary now have their pay directly linked to climate change.
It’s one of a number of initiatives the company is using to reduce carbon emissions by 25 per cent over the next five years.
Husky’s recent Environmental, Social and Governance report outlines its plan to achieve net zero by 2050.
Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Human Resources for Husky Energy, Janet Annesley tells VOCM News tying executive pay to specific targets is one way to achieve those goals.
She says it is crucial that the right incentive program is set for performance and delivery of specific targets.
The company has also set similar goals in achieving greater diversity, including attracting top talent to ensure 25 percent of executive roles are held by women.
