This year marks the 40th anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope, but COVID-19 is preventing Canadians from gathering to mark the event.
That’s not stopping efforts to raise money for cancer research. Instead, people are being asked to celebrate the occasion virtually.
Four decades after Fox dipped his prosthetic leg in the waters of St. John’s Harbour, Canadians are being asked to participate in the first-ever virtual “Terry Fox Run. One Day. Your Way.”
Those who would normally participate in the annual Terry Fox Run on Sunday, September 20, are being asked to register their virtual fundraising efforts online.
