The President of Memorial University is hopeful that COVID-19 will present an opportunity for future enrolment.
Registration for the fall semester is at a record high.
Vianne Timmons says there’s been an increase in the number of students, who haven’t been on campus in years, interested in finishing their degrees.
They’re also seeing more students who would normally have left the province to seek post-secondary education.
MUN has 700 more undergrad students this year than this time last fall. That tells her that more Newfoundland and Labrador students are enroling at MUN this year, and she hopes they can “hook ’em, and keep them.”
