This is Kids Eat Smart Week, a time to focus on efforts to ensure that schoolchildren have a full stomach; it’s not easy to concentrate on learning when the tummy is growling.
Thank you to Dr. John Haggie @Johnrockdoc

There are 258 Kids Eat Smart clubs from the southern Avalon to northern Labrador.
Things are different this year with the pandemic but students are still getting a free breakfast. This year, it’s “grab n’ go” instead of buffet-style as in the past.
Celina Stoyles of the Kids Eat Smart Foundation says it only costs them a dollar a day per child. She says as they navigate through these next several months they hope to continue to have the support of people in the province to ensure children have food at school at no cost.
