The voting is over in the Humber-Gros Morne byelection and the decision is in.
Premier Andrew Furey has secured his seat by a landslide. He took the seat by quite a sizeable margin. In 45 polls, Furey garnered 3,401 votes.
Coming in second was Mike Gooseney of the PCs with 1,332 votes.
Next up was Graydon Pelley of the NL Alliance with 464.
Graham Downey -Sutton of the NDP came in fourth with 121 votes.
The win for Furey means he secures a seat in the legislature, something he hasn’t had since taking office in August. Former Premier Dwight Ball was originally the MHA for the district.
However, Furey won’t be entering the House of Assembly just yet – he’ll need to be sworn in as the MHA for Humber-Gros Morne first.
