An interactive map has been launched to help people learn about one of the capital city’s most historic parks.
The Victoria Park Foundation’s Storywalk App navigates visitors through some of the rich heritage in the park.
It features storytellers such as Alan Hawco, Mark Critch and others who illustrate some of those stories at various “hotspots” throughout the area.
Critch, who is also the honourary chair of the Victoria Park Foundation, calls the park a “living, breathing place” and they want people to explore it and fall in love with it like so many have before.
Critch describes one feature of the app, centred around the 100 Faces of the Great War sculpture by Morgan MacDonald.
You can click on one of the faces on the APP, and the person whose face it is will tell you their ancestor’s story.
