A disappointing discovery has come to light as deep tire tracks were torn through the grass at the new track and field facility near St. Paul’s Junior High over the long weekend.
The area—known as the ‘Field of Dreams’—was a project more than a decade in the making. The facility was unveiled last November, and made possible through community fundraisers and joint government funding.
School board trustee Peter Whittle they’re not sure whether it was a joyride or a mistake. He says it rained the previous day, so when the vehicle pulled onto the grass its tires dug deep into the sod. He calls the situation very disappointing.
Whittle is hopeful that security footage from new cameras installed at the nearby church will help identify information on the culprits.
