The Alliance for the Control of Tobacco is applauding further action being taken to curb vaping among younger Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.
ACT executive director Kevin Coady is calling vaping among young people a crisis.
MHA Perry Trimper introduced a Private Members’ Resolution in the House of Assembly this week seeking a collaborative approach to keep vaping devices out of the hands of teens.
Coady says a recent study out of Australia shows vaping increases the incidence of smoking “three-fold.”
He says the tobacco industry has “pretty much bought everything out” on the vaping side of the industry, with an aim to developing what he calls life-long customers.
