The long-time member for Cape St. Francis gave an emotional swan song in the House of Assembly today.
Kevin Parsons was first elected as the PC member for the district in a by-election in 2008. Parsons got a standing ovation in the House after announcing that he did not intend to seek re-election.
Parsons will stay on as MHA for the district until the next general election.
Meanwhile, Shannygannock frontman Chris Andrews has signalled that he intends to move from the music stage to the political stage.
He announced his intention to seek the PC nod in Cape St. Francis shortly after Parsons’ announcement in the House of Assembly.
