Kenny Green Junior, wanted in connection with a weekend assault, was taken into custody yesterday evening.
Police arrested Green without incident around 6:00 p.m. yesterday in the area of Campbell and Hamilton avenues.
The 42-year-old was the passenger in a vehicle at the time of his arrest.
Green is now facing charges of assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, dangerous driving, flight from police and various breaches of court orders. He was held in custody pending a court appearance.
Green pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2014 beating death of Joey Whalen in a home on Tessier Place in downtown St. John’s, where Green had sold drugs.
He was sentenced to six years in prison.
