Approximately 30 local jobs—mostly in the St. John’s area—will be affected as ExxonMobil conducts a global review of its operations.
The company is planning to reduce as many as 300 positions in the country by the end of 2021.

The layoffs come as the result of a recent company-wide reorganization.
ExxonMobil says Canada remains an important market for them, but further action is necessary to improve costs and ensure they manage their way through “unprecedented” market conditions.
