The Town of Deer Lake has announced its plans to gradually, and safely, reopen town operated buildings in the wake of a recent COVID outbreak.
The town has been dealing with a recent cluster of cases, forcing the closure of many town facilities and even Elwood Elementary for a period of time after a positive case was confirmed in a student there.
The Hodder Memorial Recreation Centre will reopen to the public this Saturday, while the town office will resume operations on Monday.
Businesses that were asked to shut down normal operations can now begin to reopen based on their own considerations and the time it will take to reopen.
Groups that make use of rec centre facilities are asked to review safety measures in place.
