The president of Memorial University says if there is a year in which we show flexibility, this is it.
Dr. Vianne Timmons has written all professors and lecturers to be mindful of their students’ course-load and to proceed with empathy. Some students adapt well to online learning while others may struggle. MUN will continue with off-campus learning during the winter semester.
Timmons agrees with the provincial government’s decision to scrap end-of-year public exams. Two provinces where she has worked – Saskatchewan and Prince Edward Island – fared well without the exams and she’s confident that students here will as well.
She says students have enough stress on them during these COVID times.
