Dozens of new pieces of snow clearing equipment have been delivered to depots across the island.
62 plows and 26 loaders began arriving in early November.
17 plows and seven loaders have been assigned to the Avalon, 13 plows and five loaders are going to eastern Newfoundland, 13 plows and four loaders are bound for central Newfoundland, and 19 plows and ten loaders to the west coast.

The 62 plows are being leased for five years in a lease-to-purchase agreement with Hickman Truck Centre valued at $19.2 million with an option to buy the equipment after that time. The loaders were leased through a five-year lease-to-purchase agreement with Wajax Equipment for $6.8 million.
