A 26-year-old man is being held in custody pending a court appearance this coming Wednesday, December 23, on a charge of second-degree murder and a list of other alleged violent offences.
Brandon Noftall was arrested on Friday after a 41-year-old man was killed in Renews.
Noftall is now facing charges of second-degree murder, two counts of assault, assault with a weapon, attempting to strangle, choke or suffocate, and uttering threats.
He made an initial appearance in court yesterday and was remanded to custody. The arrest came after a string of incidents on the Southern Shore overnight Thursday.
Police had closed a portion of the Southern Shore highway for an extended period of time as they conducted their investigation.
RCMP are telling residents to expect to see a continued police presence in the area as the investigation continues.
