A phishing attack is making the rounds at Memorial University.
The email asks students and employees to apply for COVID-19 relief funding. The emails, which claim to be from Financial and Administrative Service, are a phishing attempt for people’s credentials.
MUN says anyone who clicked links contained in the emails and provided a password should immediately change their passwords.
It cautions that you should be extra vigilant when responding to emails that request personal information. Review the sender’s email address, inspect the veracity of links, or contact the individual directly to confirm the legitimacy of the email.
MUN states that its users should never disclose login credentials under any circumstances.
If in doubt, contact the IT Service Desk at 864-4595, or help@mun.ca.
