The owner of a transport truck stopped by police and highway enforcement officials on the Trans-Canada yesterday has been fined.
The eastbound lanes of the Trans-Canada between Butter Pot and the Foxtrap Weigh Scales were temporarily closed yesterday morning due to debris on the highway.
A picture of the vehicle involved showed that a container, pieced together with sheets of wood, appeared to be coming apart.
Service NL says Highway Enforcement officers assessed the driver’s paperwork and ensured that the load was sufficiently secured to travel to the Foxtrap Weigh Scales for further assessment.
The company was fined $750 for two violations of the Highway Traffic Act.
