This time next week, Memorial University will be fully-staffed although the instructional component remains largely virtual. It’s not yet known when students and faculty members will be back on campus.
As for next week, the bookstore, tunnels and pedways will all be open but food service will be limited.
Josh Lepawsky, president-elect of MUNFA, says there will be a broader discussion by the Senate in a couple of weeks regarding the status of the spring semester.
Whether the university returns to a traditional format in the spring depends on Public Health at the time.
He says one of the key issues will be accessibility for students and faculty, who have made a variety of accommodations to teach remotely.
Lepawsky says a partial or full return to teaching may be difficult for some.
