The Liberals are promising to create a virtual trade desk to make it easier for local entrepreneurs to connect with foreign investors.

Premier Andrew Furey unveiled the party’s plan to create Invest NL in an effort to help local businesses expose themselves to bigger players on an international scale.

He made the announcement this morning in Labrador West, which relies on the global iron ore business for its very survival.

Furey says it’s an opportunity to extend the reach of local business and reduce government red tape.

The premier did not say how much the initiative might cost government coffers.
