MusicNL Week wrapped up Sunday with awards handed out to industry professionals and performers alike.
Rum Ragged was the big winner, taking home three awards: Factor Album of the Year for “The Thing About Fish,” Celtic Traditional Artist of the Year, and the fans’ choice for Entertainer of the Year.
VOCM’s own Greg Smith took home two awards, winning for Media Person of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.

Honorary Lifetime Achievement Award: The Nain Moravian Church Choir and the Nain Brass Band

George Street Association Venue of the Year: The Ship Pub
Meanwhile, Honorary Legacy Awards went to Wheelers Lounge and The Strand Lounge, while the honorary Denis Parker Industry Builder Awards were claimed by Echo Music and Recording Studio, and Clode Sound Productions.
“Newfoundland and Labrador’s music sector is made up of a village of talented people that contribute to its success. The $51.5-million industry will only continue to thrive when all professionals in the sector come to the table,” said MusicNL Executive Director Rhonda Tulk Lane, who said hosting the event virtually this year actually extended its reach.
The awards show was hosted by Come From Away actress Petrina Bromley and Phil Churchill of The Once.
