Close to 15 cm of snow is on the ground at St. John’s International Airport. Drizzle will turn back to snow tonight about another 5-10 cm. Eastern Newfoundland, Southern Newfoundland and Central are in for a total of 25-30 cm while the west coast gets about 15cm.
David Neal, a meteorologist at the Gander Weather Office, describes this as a deep system with stiff winds overnight and tomorrow.
He says it’s a fairly wide area of snow. Once we get behind it, there will be northwesterly winds which can bring snow squalls to the west coast.
