Over 1,300 people in metro were without electricity this morning.
The lights went out just before 7:30 a.m. in Mount Pearl (Spruce Ave-Dunnes Ln), Cowan Heights (Burin St-Cowan Ave), Sheffield Estates (Columbus Dr-Foran St), Bowring Park (Brookfield Rd-Columbus Dr), Brookfield Rd (Heavytree Rd-Templeman St), Waterford Heights (Hawker Cres-Park Rd), Bowring Park (Team Gushue HWY-Brookfield Rd), Cowan Heights (Team Gushue Hwy-Burin St).
Newfoundland Power said the outage was due to equipment problems and restored power around 11 a.m.
Comments on Twitter say a pole was on fire. Fire crews, police, and Newfoundland Power briefly shut down a portion of Topsail Road to assess the damage.
