The province is reporting 26 new cases of COVID-19 today. Nine of the cases are under the age of 20.
There has been one new recovery in the Western Health region.
There are 285 active cases, with no one in hospital. 1618 people have been tested since yesterday.
Dr. Janice Fitzgerald says her concern is how the variant will impact seniors. Only one essential visitor is allowed for those who require assistance.
Anyone who enters a home or facility must be screened and staff can only be shared in facilities where absolutely necessary. Seniors will be heavily monitored for symptoms.
In addition, rotational workers from non-outbreak sites must now self-isolate away from family members for 14-days.
There are no changes for international or those returning from outbreak sites. Services are available for those who don’t have a place to isolate.
