The province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health says it is concerning to hear that police on the west coast are investigating numerous reports of people violating the province’s special measures orders.

On Tuesday alone, RNC in the region received 17 reports of people and/or businesses not following the rules. No charges have been laid but the allegations are being followed up on.

Dr. Janice Fitzgerald is urging those who are thinking of deviating from the rules to remember why they are there.

She says they are trying to make sure people stay safe; they want to keep people from getting COVID and keep people out of the hospital. So it’s really important that people follow the recommendations.
