It will be another few days before Elections NL has an idea on how many ballots will be in the mix for Election 2021.
About 33,000 voted in the Advance Polls and about 110,000 requests for the special mail-in ballots have been processed thus far with over 10,000 per day still being sent out.
The Chief Electoral Officer says a lot of their time until recently had been spent acquiring the materials required, such as envelopes.
Bruce Chaulk says they should have a better handle on the numbers by the end of the weekend.
He asks people who have yet to receive their ballot to be patient as the process takes time.
Some have received ballots with missing components, Chaulk says while disappointing, it’s not unexpected.
He says it’s a human process and humans make mistakes. Elections NL will send out the missing pieces if the voter contacts them.
