A St. John’s woman is cautioning her west end neighbourhood after she and her husband found what looked like an arrow lodged into the siding of their home.
Donna Osmond says a few days ago her husband was out clearing snow from their vehicles when he noticed the object sticking out of the siding, not far from a window.
The night before, Osmond says she can remember hearing a “thud” but didn’t think much of it, chalking it up to the weather.
The RNC and Wildlife Enforcement were called. Osmond recalls the wildlife enforcement officer’s assessment of the situation.
He said the object had come from the sky on an angle, and that if it hadn’t hit a stud it would have gone through the gyprock.
Osmond posted about the incident online indicating her home backs onto Kitty Gaul Park. She wanted to make people aware as she was concerned for the safety of those in the area. Osmond received comments from people indicating that such incidents have happened before, which concerns her even more.
Wildlife told her the projectiles are not numbered, and therefore cannot be traced back to anyone. Osmond says she was told such an incident is in the same category as a gun discharge and will be treated as such.
