The Autism Society is noting some of the triumphs and challenges of the pivot to working within Alert Level 5 protocols.
The society has had to pivot in the way they deliver many services since the new rules were put in place. For example, their social enterprise, a restaurant known as The Pantry, has adopted new delivery options to keep their operations running.
CEO Paul Walsh is proud of how quickly his team was able to shift their programs and services to an online venue.
He notes that the system isn’t perfect and that every person on the spectrum is different so the change is serving some better than others. However, he is happy they could maintain that connection with clients.
