A local organization working towards creating a community centre for 2SLGBTQIA+ people and organizations has received $237,332 from the federal government to help make that happen.
The funding, made through government’s LGBTQ2 Community Capacity Fund will allow the Quadrangle Capacity and NL Network Project to work towards the dream of a provincial hub for the community where everyone can be their true authentic self.
Quadrangle NL is working with consultants to develop a five-year strategic plan that includes an inclusion, diversity and accessibility plan, as well as an Indigenous outreach strategy.
This project is the first of its kind in Newfoundland and Labrador but follows similar models of 2SLGBTQIA+ centres across Canada.
