The province continues to move through its vaccine priority groups as it nears the end of Phase One of its vaccine rollout plan.
Newfoundland and Labrador received its first shipment of the AstraZeneca vaccine yesterday, which has been earmarked for first responders and frontline essential workers.
According to Health Minister Dr. John Haggie, Public Health is working through the last of those who are to be vaccinated in Phase One, including seniors over the age of 85 who live out in the community and home care workers. He says the home care workers will take the province into the end of next week.
Haggie notes first responders will be the first to get the AstraZeneca vaccine in Phase Two.
They are working on identifying those people now to start vaccinating on Monday.
