Most areas of the province have enjoyed a mild winter thus far, and according to the Farmers Almanac, that trend looks like it will be continuing into the spring and summer.
Pete Gieger is the editor of the Almanac, which has been published regularly since the 1800s and boasts an impressive accuracy rate.
He says they can predict weather two years in advance by using a mathematical formula that is applied to sunspot activity, planet positions, and the impact the moon has on the Earth.
Gieger believes that the worst of winter is behind us and expects the spring to be wet and mild.
He says thunderstorms will dominate the summer months but doesn’t believe it will be overly muggy.
Gieger predicts our summer this year will be “thundery, slightly drier, and a little bit warmer.”
