The Supreme Court of Canada has refused to hear an appeal by serial rapist Sofyan Boalag.
In three separate incidents in 2012, Boalag grabbed two women and a 15-year-old girl off the streets of downtown St. John’s, threatened to kill them if they fought back, and violently sexually assaulted them.
The 39-year-old Boalag was convicted in 2016 and later designated a dangerous offender, which comes with an undefined prison term, though he can apply for parole after seven years.
If he ever does get out of prison, he will be deported to his home country of Algeria.
The Supreme Court of Canada traditionally does not give reasons for dismissing appeals.
