Applications for black bear licences for Newfoundland and Labrador are now available.
Licences are valid for both the 2021 spring and fall hunting season. Previously, black bear licenses issued on the Big Land were valid from the fall of one year to the spring of the next year.
In Labrador, the spring hunt is scheduled for April 1st to July 13th, while the fall hunt begins August 10 and ends November 30.
On the Island, the spring hunt is set for May 1st to July 15th, with the fall season opening in September and closing November 14th.
Hunters can apply for a licence on the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture’s website.
