Students in grades K-9 on the Avalon Peninsula return to in-class instruction today for the first time in over a month, but things will be a bit different this time around thanks to the COVID variant.
Teachers and staff will be required to wear a medical mask and face shield at all times in instructional spaces and where a two-metre distance can’t be maintained.
All students in Grades 4 to 6 are expected to wear a mask at all times both on the bus and throughout the school day.
Students in Kindergarten to Grade 3 are expected to wear a mask on the bus and are encouraged to wear a mask throughout the school day, although it is not required.
Students and staff are asked to stay home if they feel unwell and may be sent home if they develop symptoms while at school.
High school students across the province are continuing with—or returning to—online learning.
