If all goes well, Newfoundland and Labrador will be joining the Atlantic Bubble this time next month.
That decision has led many to question the status of sporting activities restricted by the lockdown.
When Premier Andrew Furey addressed the possibility of joining the bubble at Wednesday’s COVID-19 briefing, the idea was quickly criticized on social media with many questioning how it can be safe to travel, but not safe enough to play sports.
Furey says he understands the frustration. He says he and Dr. Fitzgerald have conversations about the topic regularly.
He says Dr. Fitzgerald’s team is weighing the options, but there is nothing definitive just yet.
