A local travel agent says the pandemic has shaken the industry to its very core.
Derek Winsor runs E&B Travel in St. John’s.
Not only have some agents lost business due to COVID, but they’ve also lost revenue having to issue refunds for trips that weren’t able to go ahead.
Despite that, his company is “ready to go” when people are comfortable to start booking travel again.
Winsor says he has been keeping up on training and trends to see what kind of experiences travellers will be seeking once travel restrictions are lifted.
In the meantime, as an independent business, he’s been able to weather the storm by working from home.
