Metro police have charged two people for failing to follow the COVID-19 Special Measures Orders regarding self-isolation.
The RNC got a call from a hotel in the west end of St. John’s regarding two occupants possibly in violation. Officers ended up charging a 30-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman for failing to abide by self-isolation as required.
Both were released to appear at a later date.
The maximum penalty for individuals failing to follow the requirements is a fine of $2,500 or six months in jail.
