Pharmacists responsible for administering the COVID vaccine will be vaccinated themselves during Phase 1 of the province’s vaccine rollout plan.
The executive director of the Pharmacy Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, Jennifer Collingwood says they’ve been informed that pharmacists will begin administering vaccines in Phase 3, which is scheduled to begin “no later than May.”
Pharmacy employees will also be prioritized in Phase 2 of the vaccine rollout.
All pharmacists and staff will have the opportunity to be vaccinated prior to the rollout of public vaccines being administered in pharmacies the Pharmacists Association has been informed.
