One of two people charged with a recent armed robbery in Mount Pearl has been released on bail.
Richard Driscoll and Jessica Driscoll, who are husband and wife, had been in custody since their arrest two weeks ago today.
The couple, both in their 30s, were arrested by police shortly after a convenience store in Mount Pearl was held up. Police say a woman armed with a knife demanded cash and cigarettes from the clerk, then sped away in a car driven by a man.
Earlier this week, both Driscolls appeared in court separately by video and teleconference, making a plea for bail, noting they have two infant children at home.
Yesterday, a judge agreed to release Jessica Driscoll on bail with numerous strict conditions, and a surety to pay $1,000 if she breaks any of those rules.
Richard Driscoll, who plans to represent himself in the case, remains in custody for the time being.
Between them, the Driscolls face charges of armed robbery, vehicle theft, possession of a dangerous weapon, dangerous driving, and flight from police.
