A Memorial University political scientist is conducting research into the impact the 2021 election has had on candidates.
Kelly Blidook is working with Royce Koop of the University of Manitoba in putting together an anonymous questionnaire of each of the 127 candidates in the provincial election.
Some of the questions are straightforward including which party they ran for, their experiences, and who they believed would win in their district.
Blidook says some of the questions, however, are more open-ended and can be answered with more detailed responses.
Including how a candidate has been affected personally by the drawn-out campaign. They want to get a sense of the financial, physical, and psychological impacts of such an unusual campaign says Blidook.
Blidook can be reached via Memorial University or through Twitter, @kblidook.
